TIM THURSTON RANKED #1 IN THE COUNTRY

The preseason wrestling rankings are out, and Tim Thurston of Iowa Lakes is ranked #1 in the country at 133 pounds.

"Anytime you are ranked #1, you've done something significant to earn that ranking,” said Laker Head Coach Ty Eustice.  “Obviously it doesn't mean anything as far as accomplishments this year, but Tim has really shown me a lot in the wrestling room so far. He is a very special athlete."

Other Laker wrestlers receiving a preseason rank were Jahsua Marsh, ranked #4 at 197, Victor DeJesus, ranked #6 at 149, Danial McGillivray, ranked #8 at 165, Matt Catalano, ranked #9 at 141, and Tyler Stokes & Rowan Stander, both ranked #11, at 125 and 174, respectively.

Iowa Lakes will participate in unofficial inter-squad matches this Saturday, November 7, and the season will open the following weekend (November 14) in Ames, for the Harold Nichols Open, which is known to be a very competitive tournament.
